May 2023 – Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Charity NHS Foundation Trust, Long Covid Art Project May to July 2023
I am so pleased, excited and privileged to be selected for the ‘Long Covid Mindful Drawing and Painting’ ten week arts project, funded by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Charity NHS Foundation Trust, in association with the Arts Council England. I will be working with Long Covid Patients and we will be exploring Mindful Drawing, Painting and Breathing exercises and techniques. This project will really tie in with my recent work of ‘Art for Health & Wellbeing’ and I am looking forward very much to developing my expertise further in this professional area.
May 2023 – Conversations with Chrissie
It was such a privilege to give my long term therapist, Chrissie this painting as a gift on our very last therapy session. I began the painting at the beginning of our sessions and continued the piece until our last ever session in 2022. A remarkable therapist and she helped me to paint once again, and I will never forget the privilege of working with her. Her dedication to my creativity helped me to lift a very dark veil in my life.

A really lively, busy Preview Evening, such an excellent curated exhibition by Sharon and Michael at Fronteer Gallery. It was great to get out and socialise again and see what other local artists have been working on during the recent Covid Lockdowns!

September 4th 2021 – Millennium Galleries, Sheffield ‘Paint like Hoyland – one day in September’.
Join myself for an inclusive adult painting workshop based around the brilliant exhibition currently on at Millennium Galleries of John Hoyland’s final paintings. Hoyland was born in Sheffield and this exhibition brings the artist’s work home. In the last decade of his artist career, Hoyland embraced pure imaginative freedom. This freedom of expression will be explored in the practical painting workshop with myself .Students will be encouraged to explore and translate their emotional states onto canvas. August 21st 2021: My Etsy Shop Title Change
My ‘Woman in the Attic’ name on Etsy Shop and on my website has now changed its name to ‘Brewins Cook Paintings’. Although I chose this name during in Lockdown and it had a positive association with my Shop opening during Lockdown, I found my customers were searching the internet on my surname, hence the name change! All links to my shop have now been changed.
August 14th 2021: ‘The Call Within’ Grand Designs Painting, now available as Open Edition Giclee Prints
I am so very excited to finally have re-produced my Grand Designs painting, ‘The Call Within’ (oil on canvas, 150x240cm), into ‘Open Edition’ A4 Giclee prints. The painting was originally commissioned for a living space in my clients contemporary house, myself and the piece featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs TV programme. It will be wonderful to be running some post Covid, in person Life Drawing Workshops for Sheffield Museums once again. November 2019 – Fronteer Art Open Exhibition
Wonderful to have ‘Meadow, sea & sunlight, St Ives 2004’(oil on wood, 2019) exhibited at Fronteer’s ‘Open Exhibition’, during November 2019 at Gallery 35, Sheffield. This painting has really done the rounds in 2019! Here’s a pic of me by my painting on the Preview Night.
August 2019 – Absolutely thrilled to have two seascape paintings selected into NHS Cardiff’s Arts Health Charity & Public Art Collection. The works will be on permanent display in their collection over two hospital sites in Cardiff. The purpose of the collection is to make patients more at ease and calm them during in difficult procedures in and around the Nuclear Medical Procedures Department. The two paintings are ‘Runswick Bay in high summer, 2017 (oil on canvas,25x30cm) and ‘Sandsend No1, 2016 (oil on canvas, 20x20cm).
